In just one year, you will be ready to explore employment opportunities as a 2D animator, animation editor/compositor, rigging artist, character designer, storyboard artist and more! With our online Applied Arts: 2D Character Animation diploma program, you will learn to use such tools as Harmony Toon Boom, Storyboard Pro, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects.

You will develop your draftsmanship skills, get a thorough introduction to storyboarding and character rigging and study animation principles like sequential art for motion, conveying weight, storytelling and visual clarity to create appealing and dynamic animations. You’ll create two unique projects and a demo reel that highlight your animation skills, completing a short scene of your choice to demonstrate your creativity and technical mastery. You’ll also create a portfolio website using video editing, graphic design and web design tools to showcase your work to prospective employers.
