In just one year, you will be ready to pursue a career path in magazines, book publishing, fabric design, picture book illustration, character motion design and more. Our online Applied Arts: Illustration diploma program builds essential skills in illustration and visual storytelling through sketchbook ideation, foundational drawing techniques and proficiency in Photoshop and Procreate ®.

You will develop skills in perspective, composition, color and light to create impactful artwork for digital and print formats. You will advance your skills in figure drawing, focusing on human poses, expressions and dynamic movement.

You’ll also explore editorial illustration, learning to interpret written material visually for magazines, newspapers, book covers and more. These skills are essential for building a strong portfolio and opening freelance opportunities in creative industries like publishing, advertising, and design.
